This is a perfect example on how to make a really simple image so good and interesting. I've seen so many examples on people who has tried to make a really simple photograph, and yes.... it becomes simple, but nothing else than simple. That is something you have avoided in this image.

It's not only simple. the umbrella and the choice of clothes used here makes it interesting. The flash itself is the masterpiece, perfectly placed, perfect timing and perfect strength. Haven't seen that in a really long time.

By making it a shot from further away you made it something different and unique. Something which you should be proud of.
The originality also comes a little bit forth for daring to use what we can call a simple position. But you really mastered that too in this picture.
